INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - Starting September 1, 2017, PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) eliminate freight services (porter). The Porter service will be available at Terminal I and II of Soekarno-Hatta Airport.
"As of September 1, 2017, the porter service at Terminal I and Terminal 2 was changed to the airport helper service. Passengers who use the services of porters do not have to pay, all free, "said President Director of PT Angkasa Pura II Muhammad Awaluddin, Thursday (8/31/2017).
He explained, because the name has changed to airport helper, then the assistance provided is not just about lifting passenger goods, but anything during the airport helper authority. And it's all free of tipping money.
"Anything will be helped as long as they can help in their authority. His name is also helper. No charge aka free of charge and no tipping, "said Awaluddin.
Awaluddin said previously the freight service policy only applies in Terminal III which serves international and domestic flights. Free porter service policy, according to Awaluddin, is one of the efforts to make Soekarno-Hatta Airport as an international-class airport.
"We want to enforce all terminals the same as in Terminal III. So all the terminals are the same. we want to go international world class, "said Awaluddin.
Awaluddin added, so far there are three vendors that supply transportation services in the area Soekarno-Hatta Airport with the amount of about 800 workers. Later, PT Angkasa Pura Solusi, a subsidiary of PT Angkasa Pura II, will manage revenue from porters who have been relying on tips and targets.
"We understand that the free porter policy will have an impact on the wage mechanism of the workers," he said.
