INDUSTRY.co.id - Rote Ndao- The Ministry of Transportation has budgeted Rp50 billion for the development of Ba'a Port facility in Rote Ndao by increasing the length of dock and crane investment for loading and unloading of goods.

Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi explained after the development, port dock Ba'a will have a length of 130 meters from the current along 80 meters.

"This port has to be improved, the length is less, 80 meters and we will add another 50 meters, the budget is around Rp40 billion to Rp50 billion," said Minister of Transportation when reviewing Ba'a Port, Rote Ndao Regency, Sunday (10 / 9/2017)

He explained that the increase in sea toll operation by increasing the length of the pier can make two or three ships can lean.

In addition, the MoC will also invest cranes in Ba'a Port in order to improve the performance of loading and unloading of goods so much faster.

At Ba'a harbor there are currently at least 10 containers entering in a month. According to the Minister of Transportation, goods or logistics can be collected in "Rumah Kita" which is managed by Pelindo III from Rote so that it can be brought back to Surabaya or Jakarta.

"The reverse charge of Rote-Surabaya is relatively small, ranging from 10 to 20 percent, we want the goods coming and going to be the same," he said.

He added that this sea toll is the potential to bring goods and improve the economy. Pelindo III is assigned to the community to collect goods to be brought out.

Meanwhile, Vice Regent Rote Ndao Jonas C Lun said this toll policy is something that brings blessings, especially for Rote Ndao district.

He said he would arrange incoming and outgoing goods. Rote can be balanced.

"The availability and shelter of our goods will be arranged together so that coming and going can be balanced so that there is an economic increase," said Jonas.

Jonas explained after the sea toll, the price of goods in Rote can go down and can be controlled.

"There is a positive benefit, before there is a slightly higher sea toll price after there is a sea toll because there is a distribution and stock price is more controlled," said Jonas.

The Sea Toll at Rote is served by KM. Caraka Jaya Niaga III-22 and KM Logistik Nusantara I, both of which depart from Tanjung Perak Surabaya. The type of cargo that is brought, among others, sugar, rice, flour, soybeans, oil and steel construction.
