INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta- Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi said the financing scheme of two infrastructure projects, namely Kertajati Airport and LRT Jabodebek, should be a good example in working on infrastructure projects in Indonesia.

Budi met at the Coordinating Ministry of Maritime Affairs, Jakarta, Tuesday (12/9/2017) said the financing scheme in these two projects does not burden the Central Government's budget so it is worthy of being copied in other infrastructure projects.

For the Kertajati Airport development project in Majelangka Regency, West Java, for example, the financing scheme is shared with the local government with additional funds from investors through limited placement funds (RDPT).

"It's a good business scheme, showing that the center and the region together and can raise investors gradually. This scheme could be a model that we can make elsewhere," he said.

Former Angkasa Pura II President Director also said the scheme is expected to encourage other regional governments to build infrastructure without burdening the Government Budget (APBN).

"All local governments are able to do so because the central government can not finish projects in the regions," he said.

Similarly, the Jabodebek light rail project (LRT) in which the government is not fully funding, but only helps to strengthen the equity of the company through state equity participation (PMN). The remaining budget needed to build facilities and infrastructure will be supported by bank loans.

"This scheme is a good scheme, Kertajati and LRT Jabodebek, so there are two financing schemes that are quite complicated but can be solved, and this is good," he said.

Previously, Coordinating Minister for Home Affairs Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan also called the Jabodebek LRT project which is claimed to have been through a number of efficiency efforts is expected to be an example for similar projects in other cities.

The efficiency of mass transportation projects is done in various ways so that business income can also be improved. Besides being more efficient, Luhut claims the scheme will be more attractive for private parties to invest in it.
