INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - Toll Road Regulatory Agency (BPJT) stated that the 2,800 kilometer Trans Sumatera toll road project is facing land acquisition obstacles, especially on Medan-Binjai and Medan-Tebing Tinggi segments.

Head of BPJT Herry Trisaputra Zuna explained the land acquisition is one of them because there is no evidence of land ownership.

"Land is not yet free and there are several kinds of ownership, whose land has no control, no ownership proof," said Herry at the Office of the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing, Jakarta, Friday (09/29/2010)

He explained that both the Medan-Binjai and Medan-Kualanamu-Tebing Tinggi toll roads are projects that are being processed by the government.

The land acquisition is targeted to be completed by 2018 given the insufficient budget of the PUPR Ministry if completed this year.

On the other hand, he revealed that the construction of toll roads does not experience any constraints in terms of geological contours, so no heavy equipment technology is required to absorb more budget.

"Medan-Binjai is good land, just not free yet, because it is forest, if technology is relatively ordinary," Herry said.

There is also a Trans Sumatera toll road has eight toll roads which until now accelerated to reach 21 percent because six segments of which are being worked on.

Currently completed toll roads are Lampung-Kayu Agung along the 350 km, Kapalbetung toll road along 112 km and Kualanamu 170 km.
