INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - PT Kereta Commuter Indonesia (KCI) will operate the Electric Railway (KRL) to Cikarang Station in Bekasi District, West Java on 8 October. The plan, there will be 32 trips or 16 PP trips that serve the users in cross Cikarang - Jakartakota.

The operation of this KRL is a KCI effort to expand KRL coverage in line with the target of PT KCJ serving 1.2 million passengers by 2019.

"Commuter Indonesia Trains has expanded its service area, from the preparations made with the Directorate General of Railways Ministry of Transportation (DJKA) and PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) and a number of trials, we are fully prepared to serve the KRL users to Cikarang," said Director of PT KCI, MN Fadhila in an official statement in Jakarta, Friday (6/10/2017).

To support KRL operations to Cikarang, the government has built two new stations, East Bekasi and Cibitung. While Cikarang Station is being done the revitalization process, and Tambun Station soon follow.

PT KCI has also set up e-ticketing infrastructure and service provision in the four stations. Various checks and trials on the readiness of rail infrastructure facilities have also been done with PT KAI Daerah Operasi 1 Jakarta and DJKA.

Of the 32 KRL trips each day that will serve Bekasi Station east to Cikarang, the first KRL from Cikarang to Jakarta city starts operating at 04.45 WIB.

While the last train from Cikarang is scheduled to leave at 19:32 for the purpose of Jakarta city, and departed at 20:52 for the purpose of Bekasi. Departures from Bekasi are available until 22:15 pm for the city of Jakarta.

For the reverse direction, from Jakartakota Station, the first train departs for Cikarang scheduled for 05.41 WIB. While the last train from Jakarta the destination city of Cikarang is available at 17:46. Departure from Bekasi is available until 18.43 for Cikarang destination.

With the distance Cikarang city of Jakarta as far as 43.97 km, then the tariffs that users need to pay is Rp 5,000. The travel time for Cikarang-Jakartakota is estimated around 90 minutes, while for Cikarang-Bekasi with a distance of 16 km is about 20 minutes.

In addition to KRL circuit facilities and travel itinerary, PT KCI has also prepared officers to perform various service functions at the station, including passenger service, announcer, counter attendant, security, to cleanliness.

To serve electronic ticket transactions, PT KCI has installed nine electronic gates and six point of sales machines (POS) at Cikarang Station; eight electronic gates and four POS machines at Cibitung Station; four electronic gate and Five POS machine at Tambun Station; as well as nine electronic gate and five POS machines in East Bekasi Station.
