"Hopefully, from Kulon Progo Railway Station to Yogyakarta train station will be integrated not at Tugu Railway Station but in other place or at Lempuyangan Train Station, if you have to be in Lempuangan Train Station will need an additional new building," hope Minister of Transportation Budi.
Overall related to land procurement progress, land clearing development, airport design planning, and transportation accessibility, all processes are going well and will go according to plan.
"We will complete and implement the construction of Kulon Progo Airport Phase 1 with an area of approximately 130.000m2 in 2019," said Minister of Transportation.
New Yogyakarta International Airport itself is targeted to be operated in 2019, later also can be accommodated large-bodied aircraft.
For information, Yogyakarta New Airport in Kulon Progo is built on an area of 587 hectares. The construction of the airport is not funded by the state budget but by the private sector. The airport will have a terminal of 130 thousand square meters with a capacity of up to 10 million passengers per year, with a runway of 3,250 meters, and an apron with 28 aircraft units.
