INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta (ANTARA News) - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) (KAI) cooperates with PT Wijaya Karya Tbk (WIKA) to develop the Transit Oriented Development (TOD) concept in Pasar Senen Station, Jakarta with investment of Rp500 billion.

The synergy between the two state-owned companies is marked by groundbreaking TOD Pasar Senen Station attended by Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi, Minister of Public Works Basuki Hadimuljono, Minister of SOE Rini M. Soemarno, President Director KAI Edi Sukmoro and WIKA Bintang Perbowo President Director.

Director of WIKA Bintang Perbowo said the development of the area will last for four years with a fifty-year business cooperation period.

"The development of the TOD concept in Pasar Senen is an effort to support the government's program to build one million houses," Bintang said to the press in Jakarta on Tuesday (10/10/2017).

According to him, this step is also a manifestation of the company's commitment in supporting government programs to meet the needs of the community for housing.

"WIKA is ready to support in synergy with various state-owned landowners in this case KAI, to realize the development of TOD in the area around Pasar Senen Station," he said.

Going forward, WIKA together with KAI is committed to continue supporting the government in realizing the program of one million houses by building the TOD area in KAI's land assets integrated with the station to facilitate the mobility of citizens.

Meanwhile, President Director of KAI, Edi Sukmoro expects the development of TOD Pasar Senen will bring benefits to the community and strengthen the business line of both SOEs.

"The development of TOD Pasar Senen area inaugurated today will support the improvement of urban planning especially in densely populated areas such as Pasar Senen .. Community mobilization will also be helpful because the area is directly integrated with Pasar Senen railway station," he explained.

The synergy of WIKA and KAI is the support of SOEs to the Presidential program and the PUPR Ministry to provide one million houses for the community.

WIKA is believed to be the developer to build 480 units for low-income people (MBR), 882 apartment units for lower and middle-income commercial communities located on KAI's 8,560 m2 land.
