INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta (ANTARA News) - PT Wijaya Karya Persero Tbk (WIKA) together with PT Kereta Api Indonesia Persero (KAI) inaugurated the construction of flats with the concept of "transit oriented development (TOD)" or integrated shelter with mass transportation facilities at Pasar Senen Jakarta.

The synergy of the two SOEs is marked by the installation of the groundbreaking of TOD Pasar Senen Station in Jakarta on Tuesday, which was attended by Minister of SOEs Rini M Soemarno, Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi, Minister of PUPR Basuki Hadimuijono, President Director KAI Edi Sukmoro and Wika Bintang Perbowo .

SOE Minister Rini Soemarno said the synergy between Wika and KAI is the support of the Ministry of SOEs against the Presidential program and the PUPR Ministry to provide one million houses for the community.

"The TOD will be built with three towers totaling 1,362 units, one of which will be allocated for low-income people (MBR), while the next two towers will be for rusunami apartments," she said.

Rini also stressed that TOD Pasar Senen Station as much as 35 percent should be allocated for MBR.

"We are paying attention to low-income households to be able to enjoy subsidized home facilities, where low-income communities are set to have Rp4 million-Rp7 million in revenues per month," Rini said.

TOD Pasar Senen Station was built on an area of ​​8,560 meters, as many as 480 units of towers for the MBR, as many as 882 units of apartments for the middle to lower class and commercial area.

Meanwhile, President Director of KAI Edi Sukmoro said the synergy will bring benefits to the community and strengthen the business line of both SOEs.

"WIKA as one of the leading infrastructure companies in Indonesia we have believed to develop an integrated residential area with rail transportation infrastructure owned by KAI", said Edi.

The development of the TOD area of ​​Pasar Senen supports the improvement of urban planning especially in densely populated areas such as Pasar Senen. "Community mobilization will also be helpful because this area is directly integrated with Pasar Senen railway station," explained Edi.

President Director Wika Bintang Perbowo explained that the development of the area with an investment of around Rp500 billion will take place over four years with a term of business cooperation for fifty years.
