INDUSTRY.co.id - Bandung- The incessant infrastructure development in West Java attracts Middle East investors including the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Head of West Java One Stop Service and Investment Service (BPMPT), Dadang Masoem, said they chose investments in the infrastructure sector of West Java with an estimated value of US $ 33 million.

"They (UAE) invest into infrastructure as a project contractor," said Dadang through a written statement in Bandung (11/10/2017).

Dadang rate they have not dared to enter the manufacturing sector because it is still controlled by Japan. In addition, UAE invests in tourism such as hotel business.

According to him, Middle East investors want to invest in a concrete field. But the study project in West Java is not yet complete so investors ask the value of investment projects offered.

"In fact the closest United Arab Emirates is ranked 58th to reach USD33 million is still far when compared to other countries. The highest is Japan, Singapore, South Korea including Malaysia," said Dadang

Dadang admitted so far Middle East investment in West Java is still fairly minimal because of their investment culture is always working with other parties.

"So we recorded who play investors when there is an Middle East investor in it," said Dadang

The same thing happens when it is known that Singapore's investment value is higher than other countries. Apparently, investors actually come from Europe including the Middle East.

He cited an Air Conditional company from the UK with a factory location in Johor Malaysia while his office is in Singapore so that the Singapore investors note when ownership from the UK.

"So it's hard to trace it, we just know that 30 percent of Matahari shares are owned by Middle Eastern investors, and Singapore is in the top five but it is not native to Singapore but European investors who use Singaporeans," Dadang explained.
