INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - The Ministry of Public Works and People's Housing (PUPR) said that during three years the administration of President Joko Widodo and Vice President Jusuf Kalla had built a 2,623 kilometer national road to increase connectivity.

In the presentation of "3 Years of Achievement Jokowi-JK" in the Office of Presidential Staff, Jakarta, Tuesday, (17/10/2017) Head of Balitbang PUPR Danis H Sumalidaga said total construction of the road consists of national roads and toll roads.

"With regard to connectivity, there are 2,623 km of roads, most of which are border routes in Kalimantan and Papua, and the border is approximately 2,000 km," said Danis.

He explained the construction of border roads of about 2,000 km, among others, in NTT, precisely on the island of Timor to increase connectivity in the foremost, outermost, and left (3T) areas.

By the end of 2017, the PUPR Ministry will build 568 km of new toll roads from the 2015-2019 RPJMN target of 1,000 km. Total toll road construction until the end of 2019 is projected to reach 1,852 km.

Related to water conservation, raw water supply and energy potential, there are 65 dams to be built, consisting of 49 new constructions and 16 existing advanced developments. The 65 dams are scattered in a number of areas.

"By the end of 2019, 29 dams will be completed and there will be 36 dams to work, water conservation, raw water and energy potential," he said.

Within the framework of food security, the PUPR Ministry also creates new irrigation networks for 1 million hectares of land, builds 30,000 meters of bridges, improves access to clean water, sanitation and solid waste, and improves residential areas.

Until 2017, drinking water supply is an additional 16 thousand liters per second, sanitation and garbage from 12 million to 77 million households.
