INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - A total of 250 practitioners and businessmen and investors from Indonesia and several countries such as Japan, China, Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, Scandinavia and Canada discussed the acceleration of infrastructure development in Indonesia or Deloitte Indonesia Infrastructure CEO Forum 2017.

Deloitte infrastructure CEO Forum 2017 is Deloitte Indonesia's contribution to outline the need to improve infrastructure provision, said Claudia Law, Country Leader Deloitte Indonesia at the Deloitte Indonesia Infrastructure CEO Forum 2017 event, at the Ritz Carlton on Thursday (19/10).

She said Indonesia's infrastructure challenges in its journey to become part of the top ten of the global economy by 2025 are enormous. Required acceleration and expansion of urban infrastructure such as mass transportation system, water, port connectivity, roads, energy, and social infrastructure such as hospitals.

Meanwhile, Country Head of Deloitte Infrastructure & Capital Project, Bernardus R Djonoputro, said the investment requirement for infrastructure is huge. He added that this investment requirement determines the achievements of economic growth in the future.

"Around Rp 2,000 trillion needed to build up to 2019 will greatly determine the achievement of economic growth above 6 percent." Private investor participation is key and can not be postponed, "he said.

Therefore, he said, such private involvement should be encouraged. This infrastructure dialogue event is a major event in Indonesia, which is expected to be a platform for interactive dialogue where the private and government sectors discuss ways to develop infrastructure projects, create infrastructure ecosystems and address new perspectives of infrastructure, including innovative public private partnership.

The event was attended by Coordinating Minister for Marine Affairs Luhut Binsar Panjaitan, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Darmin Nasution, Finance Minister Sri Mulyani and Minister of National Development Planning Bambang Brodjonegoro, President Director of PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur Emma Sri Martini, President Director of PT MRT Jakarta William Sabandar, President Director of PT Pelindo II Elvyn G Masassya.
