INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakata - PT Astratel Nusantara (Astra Infra), infrastructure business line of PT Astra International Tbk, will add to 147 km of toll road concession rights to fulfill the target of 500 km toll roads by 2020.
President Director of Astra Infra Irawan Santoso in Jakarta, Wednesday (8/11/2017) said that as a private investor-operator company in Indonesia, the company is a direct or indirect shareholder of six toll road business entities (BUJT) with concession rights 353 km highway.
"We have six toll roads of 353 km, as private sector, maybe now we become the biggest in Indonesia," he said.
Wiwiek D. Santoso, Director of Astra Infra Toll Road, on the same occasion explained that the remaining 147 km to complete the target in 2020 will be met by all means.
According to her, the company did not propose a certain effort to add to toll road concession rights. It's just the best risk and payback consideration that will be the main consideration.
"If there is a ready-made or half-finished toll segment, we will take it in. If there is an interesting 'tender' (auction) we will try to participate too," she said.
Head of Toll Road Regulatory Agency (BPJT) Herry Trisaputra Zuna said encouraging the private sector in infrastructure development considering its enormous role. Of the infrastructure needs of Rp4,700 trillion, private sector roles reached 36 percent, apart from 41 percent by the government and 23 percent by state-owned enterprises.
There is also a special construction of toll roads, of as many as 2.000an km are done to date, about 80 percent of it is still done by SOEs.
"It's our homework together how to make a good project to be interesting but also have certainty, but the business entity must also be more efficient," he said as quoted by Antara.
Astra Infra holds a concession in Tangerang-Merak Toll with 79.3 percent ownership. In Jombang-Mojokerto toll road, the company's ownership reaches 100 percent. While at Kunciran-Serpong Toll, the company's ownership reaches 40 percent and in the Semarang-Solo Toll has been acquired by 40 percent.
At Serpong-Balaraja Toll Road, the company became a concession holder of 25 percent. There is also at the Cikopo-Palimanan toll, Astra Infra's effective share ownership reaches 45 percent.
Of the total achievements, toll roads owned to date reach 353 km with a toll length of 268 km.
