INDUSTRY.co.id - Surabaya - East Java Governor Soekarwo said President Joko Widodo is scheduled to inaugurate the Surabaya-Mojokerto (Sumo) highway after completion of its construction.

"The plan of 7 December will be inaugurated by the President at the point of Mojokerto, there is a youth event in Blitar," Soekarwo told reporters in Surabaya, East Java, Monday (4/12/2017).

He claimed to have reported the completion of the construction of the toll road so that it will soon be operated and passed by public transport. "All of them are fully connected and complete facilities, from Surabaya to Mengkreng, or right at the entrance of Moeldoko Mosque, which can not enter from Driyorejo as it still needs repair," he said.

Soekarwo hopes that the completion of the Surabaya-Mojokerto toll road will be able to reduce traffic jam at Legundi exit, especially for vehicles going down from Krian.

Found in a separate place, Head of Public Works and Highways Office of East Java Gatot Sulistyo Hadi said Sumo toll that will be inaugurated is section 1b, section II and section III.

Section 1a, he continued, has been operated previously and overall from Waru to Legundi, Krian has been completed. "The completion of these three sections, Sumo toll road that can be operated from Surabaya to Jombang," he said.

He explained that section II stretches Kedunglosari-Tembelang-Jombang village to Pageruyung-Gedeg-Mojokerto village, then section III from 5 kilometers long, between Kemantren Village-Gedeg Sub-district to Canggu-Jetis Village in section 1b forward from Waru to Legundi .

Meanwhile, for section IV which is a liaison with the Solo-Kertosono toll, stretches between Gondangmanis Village and Brodot in Kecamatan Bandar Kedungmulyo, Jombang.
