INDUSTRY.co.id - Sukabum i- President Joko Widodo inaugurated the construction of double track rail connecting Sukabumi to Bogor, West Java.

"Because this will mean that now three will be six (train journey) or more will bring people now 3,000 later 11,000.It will reduce traffic congestion on the highway," said President Jokowi in his speech during the ground breaking ceremony at Desa Benda, District Cicurug, Sukabumi Regency on Friday.

According to the President, he had passed the highway riding a car without escort before becoming President from Bogor to Sukabumi and takes six hours.

The President said the travel time with a distance of about 60 kilometers was so stuck.

Therefore, the government prioritizes the development of transportation infrastructure in the Sukabumi area by constructing the Bogor Ciawi Sukabumi (Bocimi) toll road, double track railway line, and the airport.

"We expect that Bogor-Sukabumi (Bocimi) we hope to be completed by 2019 October is completed I have ordered the Minister of PUPR (Basuki Hadimuljono) to work day and night because we are not strong for six hours I once was not strong, society every day stuck, jammed, stuck, "said President.

Regarding the construction of double track railway, the President asked the ministry to use labor-intensive patterns in the process.

It is expected that the railway project can absorb the workforce in the region.

The construction of a double railway is aimed at improving people's mobility and economic development in Sukabumi.

The government undertook the construction of the first phase of the Cigombong-Cicurug double-track segment of seven kilometers.

In addition, the segment of Bogor Paledang to Cicurug along 26.7 kilometers is planned to be completed by 2019.

Then for the construction of double rail segment Cicurug-Sukabumi along 30.5 kilometers is targeted to be completed by 2020.

The first rail-building event for the double track railway was carried out by President Jokowi, Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi, West Java Governor Ahmad Heryawan, and Director General of Railways Zulfikri.

The total financing for the construction of the double track railway line from Bogor-Sukabumi is derived from the State Budget (APBN) amounting to Rp2.45 trillion, which is conducted in multi-year or multiyear years.

During the celebration of Eid al-Adha last September, the President said that the double track rail connecting Bogor-Sukabumi will be built.

The construction of double track railways is expected to help reduce the burden of motorways.

The Sukabumi-Bogor line is connected by a 57-kilometer rail line crossed by diesel trains for passenger trains.
