INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - Soekarno-Hatta Airport Train is officially operating for public in the framework of public trials today, Tuesday (26/12/2017). This train will, as of January 1, 2018 will fully operate and serve the route on a scheduled basis.

Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Budi Karya Sumadi said the airport train will be a new option for people considering the travel time from Sudirman Baru Station (BNI City) to Soetta Airport is only 45-55 minutes. Different with the travel time of land routes that can reach 2 hours.

"Airport Train promises a change, speed, convenience, and security," said Minister Budi.

According to him, the Soetta Airport train has been designed by the government as well as possible, taking into account all sorts of aspects, so that passengers feel comfortable in using it.

"This we have prepared well and hopefully tomorrow will run smoothly and we will ask for input to the community what should be improved so that service will be better," added Budi.

For the ease and smoothness of prospective passengers at this New Sudirman Station, Budi expects the intermodal synergism between airport train and Transjakarta.

"I ask the Director General of Railways to invite PT Railink (Soetta Airport railway operator) and PT Transjakarta (Busway operator) in order to create a well-run interconnection synergy, in order to reduce the density of private passenger vehicles at Sudirman Baru Station," Budi.
