INDUSTRY.co.id - Tangerang - President Joko Widodo inaugurates the operation of Soekarno Hatta Airport Railway at Soekarno-Hatta Airport Railway Station Tangerang, Banten Province, Tuesday (2/1/2018).

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi and Minister of State-Owned Enterprises Rini Soemarno, Coordinating Minister Wiranto Polhukam, Minister Arief Yahya, Minister of PUPR Basuki Hadimujono, Police Chief General Tito Karnavian.

President Jokowi and a number of Working Cabinet Ministers also reviewed the station and tried the airport train to Sudirman Baru station.

Previously PT KAI had conducted a test of Soekarno-Hatta Airport train on Tuesday (26/12/2017) and with the first departure schedule at 03.47 WIB from Sudirman Baru Station (BNI City) with Rp30.000 promo rate.

President Director of PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) Edi Sukmoro said the promo price of Rp30,000 is still in the pilot phase and that the public will also provide input for full operation in January 2018.

In the early stages of operational testing December 26, 2017 - January 1, 2018 applied promotional tariff Rp30.000, while starting January 2, 2018 can be set tariff Rp70.000.

"This is still in principle, as our public services must be competitive to reduce traffic density," Edi said in a press conference at Gambir Station, Jakarta, Tuesday (26/12/2017).

Edi said the airport train consists of six trains per series that can accommodate 272 passengers and 42 trips.

In this initial operation, the new Airport Train will operate or raise passengers at three stations, namely Sudirman Baru Station (BNI City), Batu Ceper Station and Soekarno-Hatta Station.

Edi said that Airport Train will be directly connected to the Skytrain which will connect to Terminal 1,2 and 3 of Soekarno-Hatta Airport.

"Tickets can be obtained at the station, because we provide for the purchase of 'go show', mobile application or 'vending machine'," he said.

Meanwhile, the departure schedule of Soekarno-Hatta Airport train starts at 03:40 New Sudirman route (BNI City) up to Soekarno-Hatta and 06.10-23.10 Soekarno-Hatta route up to Sudirman Baru. (tar)
