INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - Technology-funded fintech (Fintech) startup company is investing in lending and borrowing facilities for small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) outside Jabodetabek area.

Investree CEO Adrian Gunadi said in a press release received here on Friday (28/7/2017) that Investree has expanded its business reach to Central Java to facilitate borrowing for MSMEs, particularly the creative industries, in the region.

"Based on data from the Central Bureau of Statistics of Central Java Province, there is an increase in the number of MSMEs by more than 40 thousand, and it is a great potential to be explored," he said.

Adrian said the presence of an Investree representative office in Semarang will make it easier to reach people with funding needs that the majority are UMKM activists in Central Java and beyond, so that transactions can run more effectively and efficiently.

The inauguration of the business expansion is done after Investree is officially registered and overseen by the Financial Services Authority (OJK) with registration number S-2492 / NB.111 / 2017 on May 31, 2017.

Investree is listed as a peer-to-peer lending provider and levied in the administration of the Directorate of Institutional and Industrial Products of Non-Bank Financial (IKNB).

Thus, Investree has met government standards in terms of electronic systems, risk of mitigation, human resource feasibility, and other operational infrastructure to run the business.

Investree's business activity is a "marketplace" in a network that brings together people who have funding needs (borrower) with people who are willing to lend the funds (lenders).

As of July 2017, Investree recorded a total loan facility amounting to Rp237 billion, disbursed loan amounted to Rp187 billion, and a settlement of Rp144 billion with a default of 0 per cent.

Investree targets a special loan transaction in Central Java this year to reach Rp 50 billion. While the national until the end of the year reached Rp400 billion.

Adrian said most of the borrowers in Investree are small and medium business players from the creative category, so it can be said that the majority of funding conducted through the Investree platform is channeled to assist business development in the industry.
