INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - PT Angkasa Pura II offers two packages of investment development of Kualanamu International Airport, North Sumatra, worth Rp 11 trillion. The two investment packages offered consist of Package I worth Rp 7 trillion and Package II of around Rp 4 trillion.

President Director of AP II, Muhammad Awaluddin, said that he has received 9 investors from Europe and Asia who are interested in doing this cooperation.

"The Kualanamu airport is a strategic partnership of the corporation, with candidates from Europe and Asia, with 9 already interested," he said.

Kualanamu International Airport is the second largest airport run by AP II, after Soekarno-Hatta International Airport. Passenger movement at the airport is increasing every year until now about 9 million passengers per year or reach the capacity of the airport. AP II has a development plan to a passenger terminal with a capacity of 42 million passengers by 2027.

In terms of finance, Kualanamu International Airport is able to record good performance in 2016 for aeronautics business revenues, nonaeronautika and cargo.

Investment Package I

Investment Package 1 includes the development of the runway so that it can serve wide-bodied aircraft Airbus 380-800, then the expansion of the cargo area to 24,715 m2 from the current 13,450 m2, then the passenger terminal from 224,256 m2 or currently with 9 million passengers per year to 17 million passengers per year.

Investment Package II

Investment Package II worth Rp 4 trillion for land management of about 200 hectares for the development of commercial areas outside the passenger terminal.

The commercial area is built in the concept of airport city where there are 3, 4 and 5 star hotels, then hypermarkets, office buildings, theme parks, golf courses, food arcades, convention centers, hospitals, cinemas, and so on.
