INDUSTRY.co.id - Sumenep - The government plans to build a new terminal at Trunojoyo Sumenep Airport, which is provided to potential passengers.

"The budget to build the terminal is actually already in the Ministry of Transportation, we will try to make the budget can be used this year," Head of Unit Operator Unit of Trunojoyo Sumenep, Indra Triyantono, said Friday (23/03/2018).

The budget prepared by the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) is Rp 29 billion. But the budget for the construction of the terminal is still blocked. Currently airport managers have submitted applications for unblocking, so the budget can be utilized.

"The land for the new terminal has been prepared by the local government, so now it is just waiting for the blocking status of the fund to be opened, it can start the construction phase of the passenger terminal," he explained.

He said, the existing passenger terminal at Trunojoyo Airport is currently using one of the buildings that were previously part of the airport office.

"Therefore, it is very necessary to build a representative passenger terminal, for the convenience of the passengers of the plane," he said.

Based on Trunojoyo Airport master plan, the passenger terminal is to the north of the 'apron' (airplane parking lot).

"The construction of the new passenger terminal is planned for two phases, the first stage of this year is only the 'structure', the finalization will be continued next year, the design is ready," said Indra. (BJ)
