INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - Minister of Industry, Airlangga Hartarto said the performance of non-oil and gas processing industry in 2017 is predicted to grow positively as the biggest contributor to the national economy.

"To achieve these targets, it is necessary to support the business climate and conducive market conditions both domestically and globally, one of which is the factor of market availability, so it needs a combination of market objectives for domestic and export," said the Minister Industry of Airlangga Hartarto in Kemenperin Office, Jakarta, Friday (4/8/2017).

He added, another important factor to spur industrial growth, namely the smoothness of investment licensing, raw material supply, and logistics flow.

According to Airlangga, the manufacturing industry not only focus on the production of consumer goods for the domestic market, but also must capture the export market opportunities. "We hope, people's purchasing power increases. The current industry volume is helped by the export market, "he said.

Based on data from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), Indonesia's export performance in January-June of 2017 reached USD59, 7 billion or
Up 10 percent over the same period in 2016 of USD54.3 billion.

Meanwhile, based on data from the Nikkei Purchasing Manager Index (PMI), the average PMI in the first quarter of 2017 was 50.06, while in the second quarter of 2017 it was 50.4. An index above 50 indicates an expansion range. That is, manufacturing performance on average is better.

"Indonesia is better compared to other ASEAN countries such as Malaysia and Singapore whose PMI index is below Indonesia. So, Indonesia is not alone face this kind of situation, "said Airlangga.

Furthermore, Minister of Industry revealed that the industry of Indonesia in the assessment of manufacturing value added by UNIDO is ranked the top 10 in the world. The ratings are above the achievements of Mexico, Spain, even above the UK and Russia. This year, Indonesia is projected to occupy the 9th position in the world.

On the other hand, Vice Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) Indonesia, Benny Soetrisno admitted, as entrepreneurs strongly believe in the programs and policies undertaken by the government is now in the right path. If the step is followed by local governments level I and II, the results will be maximized.

"It is important to create conditional conditions for the creation of economic activity," he said.

According to Benny, all the strategic efforts undertaken by the government aim to create a competitive economic activity and provide the ability of employers  can open more employment. "Thus, industrialization can run well so as to generate multiplier effect for the national economy," he concluded.
