The President Inaugurates Four Flood Control and Traffic Management Infrastructure in West Java

Thepresidentpost.id - RI President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) inaugurated four infrastructures that function to prevent flooding and unravel traffic jams in West Java, especially Bandung City and Bandung Regency. 

The four infrastructures are the Andir Retention Pond, Cieunteung Retention Pond, and  the Cisankuy Floodway  in Bandung Regency and  the Kopo Flyover in Bandung City.

"By saying  bismillahirrahmanirrahim , this afternoon I inaugurated the Andir Retention Pond, the Cieunteung Retention Pond, and the Cisangkuy Floodway  in Bandung Regency, and the  Kopo Flyover  in Bandung City, West Java Province," said the President during the inauguration, in the Andir Retention Pond Area, Sunday (05/03/2023) afternoon.

The President revealed, the Andir Retention Pond, Cieunteung Retention Pond, and  the Cisankuy Floodway  which function as flood controllers were built with a budget of Rp. 142 billion, Rp. 204 billion, and Rp. 632 billion, respectively. Meanwhile, the construction of the Kopo Flyover , which is expected to be able to unravel congestion and expedite traffic in the city of Bandung, spent a budget of IDR 288 billion.

"The total that has been built by the central government in Bandung City and Bandung Regency is Rp. 1.26 trillion," said the President.

For information, the Cieunteung Retention Pond has an area of ​​4.7 hectares and a capacity of 190 thousand cubic meters. The retention pond is equipped with 4 pumps with a total capacity of 12 cubic meters of water per second. Furthermore, the Andir Retention Pond has an area of ​​3.4 hectares with a capacity of 160 thousand cubic meters. 

The retention pond is equipped with 3 pumps with a total capacity of 1.5 cubic meters of water per second. Meanwhile, the Cisankuy Floodway has a length of 5.45 kilometers and can carry a flood discharge of 230 cubic meters per second. These three infrastructures are projected to reduce 81 percent of flood inundation in Baleendah and Dayeuhkolot.

Also present to accompany the President in the inauguration of the infrastructure were Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono, Minister of State Secretary (Mensegneg) Pratikno, Deputy Governor of West Java Uu Ruzhanul Ulum, and Mayor of Bandung Yana Mulyana.
