INDUSTRY.co.id - Samarinda - The realization of foreign investment (PMA) that entered into East Kalimantan Province in the first half of 2017 reached 447.68 million US dollars, equivalent to Rp5, 95 trillion at an exchange rate of Rp13.300.

"The realization of foreign investment is spread in 10 districts / cities in East Kalimantan with the highest value in East Kutai Regency," said Head of East Kalimantan Provincial Investment and Service Office Diddy Rusdiansyah in Samarinda on Friday (4/8/2017 )

Investment in Kutai Timur in this period reached 285.16 million US dollars with the number of projects done as many as 22 units. The foreign investment is able to absorb 421 workers consisting of 406 Indonesian workers (TKI) and 15 foreign workers (TKA).

Located in second position of Kutai Kartanegara Regency with investment value of 101.48 million US dollars in the form of 36 projects with a workforce involving 580 people consisting of 574 TKI and six TKA.

The next realization of investment in Samarinda City with a value of 15.87 million US dollars in the form of 16 projects with a labor force absorbed as many as 206 people, including 202 migrant workers and four foreign workers.

Bontang City has 36 projects done from foreign investment with a value of 14.32 million US dollars. This project absorbs 10 workers who are all migrant workers.

For Berau District, Diddy added, foreign investors are entrusted to invest US $ 10.7 million with 18 working units, absorbing 764 workers consisting of 749 migrant workers and 15 TKA.

In Kabupaten Kutai Barat, there are nine projects in this semester of 10.25 million US dollars. The total number of manpower involved in this project is 14 people who are all migrant workers.

Next in North Penajam Paser Regency there are five projects that are done with a value of 5.05 million US dollars. Of the total number of projects there are 27 laborers involved which consists of 23 TKI and four TKA.

For Paser Regency there are nine projects done with a total of 2.69 million US dollars worth of FDI, while the number of workers involved has not been reported by the related companies.

In the city of Balikpapan there are many projects that are done with the number reached 36 units, but the value of invested invested only 1.98 million US dollars. The 36 projects are able to absorb a workforce of 123 people consisting of 113 TKI and 10 TKA.

"For Mahakam Ulu Regency is the smallest investment compared to other districts / cities, which is only 133.8 thousand US dollars to build three projects, while there are 45 workers involved," said Diddy.
