INDUSTRY.co.id - Pekanbaru - State airport management company, PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero), said it is ready to serve passengers on the Eid 1439 Hijriah back and forth which is estimated to reach 6.2 million people and increase compared to 2017.
"We have predicted this year the number of passengers passing through Angkasa Pura II-managed Airport will reach 6.2 million, there is a growth of about 8 to 9 percent compared to the same period before," said Muhammad Awaluddin, President Director of Angkasa Pura (AP) II sudden inspection at Sultan Syarif Kasim Airport (SSK) II, Pekanbaru City, Friday (1/6/2018)
He said the growth of passengers occurred one of them because the number of airports managed by AP II increased to 15. In Eid last year, with 13 airports under the management of AP II, the number of passengers during Eid reached 5.56 million people.
"Now there are 15 airports, with Kertajati becoming the 15th Airport for Eid transportation," he said.
He explained that the Board of Directors of AP II agreed that since the beginning of Ramadhan will spread to 15 existing airports to check the certainty of preparation for Eid transportation. The examination is conducted thoroughly from air facilities such as runways, land facilities, to services for passengers and human resource capabilities.
"Eid Airport is not a holiday, it is busy because it serves passengers who want to return to their hometown," Awaluddin said as quoted by Antara.
When conducting a sudden review at Sultan Syarif Kasim (SSK) II Airport, Muhammad Awaluddin directly observed the Pekanbaru Airport facility, starting from cargo terminal, passenger terminal, Eid transportation post to mosque facility. He admitted quite satisfied with the existing conditions.
"Pekanbaru Airport is ready to serve the passengers of Eid transportation," he said.
He advised that all employees prioritize services to prospective passengers under any circumstances, especially in the event of delay in flight schedules.
