INDUSTRY.co.id - Jember - President Joko Widodo said the government is not only doing physical infrastructure development, but human resource development is more important.

"Do not think we only build physical infrastructure, no, human resources are more important than physical," said President Jokowi when giving a public lecture at the University of Muhammadiyah Jember, Sunday (13/08/2017)

The President said the gap between the eastern midwest region that is happening now also must be resolved. "Therefore, in solving various problems so that later we can compete with other countries, we need the name of infrastructure," he said.

According to him, infrastructure is basic, so the government is chasing the builders of toll roads, ports, "airports" (airports), power plants and others.

"Because this is the key basis for us to have competitiveness.

If this is almost done, we will enter the second big chapter of human development. This is what we have to do, if these two finish we enter the industrial phase, services, IT phase, it will be easier because the foundation is strong. One big vision of this must be submitted to the community, "said Jokowi.

At the beginning of his general lecture, President Jokowi discusses the changes that must be faced in the next five to ten years because the change is so very fast.

"This is the transition we most anticipate, very fast change, if we do not realize we can be left behind, especially to awaken the human resources we have," he said.

The president exemplifies changes in the field of transport, where the migration of large numbers of people can be moved so quickly.

"We are just building the MRT process, the new process of building LRT, will begin to build a fast train," he said.

Also changes in the payment system. Almost 90 percent of Indonesia still uses cash or credit cards.

According to him, the changes must be anticipated. Because if we do not prepare the value of Indonesian-ness, the development of the character of human resources there will be an unwitting ideological intervention.

Intervention can be through social media paths, facebook, videoblog, and others, to be anticipated.

"Such changes should not make our Indonesian values ​​eroded," Jokowi said.
