INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - President Director of West Java International Airport (BIJB) Virda Dimas Ekaputra said the progress of Kertajati Airport development in Majalengka Regency has reached 52 percent.

"The progress is 52 percent as of August 6," he said after the coordination meeting at the Coordinating Ministry of Maritime Affairs RI Jakarta, Tuesday (15/08/2017)

Virda is targeting the end of the year to complete the development so that the airport can operate in the first quarter of 2018.

There is also infrastructure work that is in the first package and workmanship buildings supporting nonterminal operations in the third package is expected to be completed next October. While the second package is the construction of the main passenger terminal.

"The first package is still constrained because the main building is only 35 percent, it is long because it makes the structure of concrete and poles," he said.

However, he ensured the progress of the construction of the main building continues to run and has now entered the stage of mechanical, electrical to interior.

"Moreover, the roof is also unique because it looks like a peacock feather, it's quite a long process and challenging constructed in construction," he said.

West Java Governor Ahmad Heryawan, in the same opportunity, ensuring the construction of Kertajati Airport should not be constrained and not stopped.

"We have no barriers so far, we agreed that PT Angkasa Pura II will soon become part of Kertajati Airport's shareholders," he told media crews.

The construction of Kertajati Airport cost up to Rp2.6 trillion for the first phase.
