INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta, PT PLN (Persero) continues to strengthen its support for the development of the national digital ecosystem through the provision of reliable electricity supply for the data center industry.
This commitment is realized through the provision of electricity supply of 2x725 Megavolt Ampere (MVA) accompanied by premium electricity services for data center facilities owned by Digital Edge Indonesia located in Cikarang, West Java.
The PLN support was announced to coincide with the ceremony of topping off the CGK1 Digital Edge Indonesia data center facility. This facility is listed as the data center with the largest power capacity in Indonesia.
The strategic collaboration between PLN and Digital Edge Indonesia is considered to be an important step in strengthening the foundation of the national digital infrastructure. This cooperation also supports Indonesia's efforts to strengthen its position as one of the centers of digital economic growth in the Southeast Asian region.
CEO Digital Edge Indonesia, Stephanus Oscar, emphasized that the availability of reliable electricity supply is a crucial factor in the development of a large-scale data center industry.
“The topping off of CGK1, supported by the largest power supply agreement in the history of Indonesia's data centers, reflects our confidence in the country's long-term digital growth,” Oscar said.
According to him, the development of the data center area is not only directed to meet the current needs of digital infrastructure, but is also part of a strategy to strengthen Indonesia's competitiveness in the face of the development of artificial intelligence-based technology (AI).
“With PLN, we are not just building a data center — we are laying the foundation for Indonesia to compete at the highest level of the global AI economy. CGK Campus is designed to grow in line with the nation's ambitions," he added.
Previously, Digital Edge Indonesia and PLN had signed Perjanjian Jual Beli Tenaga Listrik (PJBTL) in October 2025 with a supply capacity of 2x650 MVA to support the operation of data center facilities in Cikarang.
As Digital Edge Indonesia's expansion plans increase and operational needs demand 24-hour non-stop service, the electricity supply capacity is then increased to 2x725 MVA.
Capacity building is carried out gradually until 2030 to accommodate the development of facilities and the growth of data center service needs in the future.
