Recorded in the April 2026 position, the SME segment (small and medium) BSI recorded double digit growth of 13.67% year on year at Rp25.69 Trillion. Various sectors are still growing, especially those that support the daily activities of the community. Among them, agriculture and plantations, large and retail trade, educational services and others.
Director of Retail Banking BSI Packaging Erwan Husainy said "We are ready to encourage the small and medium segments in line with Bank Syariah Indonesia's commitment to contribute to the national economy, especially the pro-popular sectors that expand employment",he said.
"This small and medium business class is one of the targets because their potential is very large if they are fostered and given the right access to financing,"said Erwan.
In the midst of dynamic conditions, BSI remains optimistic that the UMKM segment is still able to grow solidly. Of course, it must also be accompanied by massive and solid financing expansion and also maintaining the precautionary principle so that the distribution of financing is on target so that it is sustainable, and able to survive with established businesses. As a result, the quality of financing (non-performing financing) of BSI maintained at 1.80% improved at the previous position of 1.88%.
Erwan added that he continues to accelerate digital transformation for the SME business segment to improve business capacity and accountability transparency of business financial records. One of them is that we prepared a cash management system with the integration of BEWIZE by BSI which facilitates the mobility of their business management, "he said.
Currently, BSI also strengthens UMKM through various strategic steps ranging from business assistance, training, business matching, to the provision of BSI UMKM Center services, as well as halal certification assistance for UMKM. This effort aims to encourage UMKM to move up the ranks and increase competitiveness in the domestic and global markets.
