The move was celebrated as an example of South-South cooperation, economic diplomacy, and multilateral partnerships driving sustainable development.

The occasion was commemorated during a high-level business meeting at PT Indo Sultan Jaya’s headquarters in the Jababeka Industrial Estate, Cikarang.

Attendees included His Excellency Macocha Tembele, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Republic of Tanzania to the Republic of Indonesia; His Excellency Tri Yogo Jatmiko, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to the United Republic of Tanzania; The Honourable Mr Naseem Rashid, Minister of Trade at the Embassy of Pakistan to the Republic of Indonesia; representatives of the Jababeka Board of Directors; and Sultan Group Chief Executive Officer Mr Ahmed Sultan with the Group’s Board of Directors.

The meeting also celebrated the departure of the first shipment of industrial machinery to Kigoma, Tanzania. The shipment marks the start of operations for a palm oil processing plant expected to create jobs, promote technology transfer, strengthen regional value chains, and contribute to sustainable industrialisation.

The Honourable Mr Naseem Rashid said the initiative reflects the vision, determination, and global outlook of Pakistani entrepreneurship.

“Sultan Group’s journey will inspire future generations of Pakistani entrepreneurs to pursue international partnerships,” he said. He reaffirmed the Embassy of Pakistan’s full support for strengthening this trilateral cooperation and noted that initiatives like this create new pathways toward sustainable economic prosperity across the Global South.

His Excellency Ambassador Macocha Tembele highlighted Tanzania’s favourable investment climate, strategic geographic position, and industrial potential. He emphasised Tanzania’s role as a gateway to regional African markets through intra-African trade and the country’s commitment to welcoming responsible investment that creates long-term value.

Speaking on behalf of Sultan Group, Mr Ahmed Sultan described the Tanzania project as the first step in the Group’s broader international growth strategy.

He expressed confidence that Tanzania’s investment incentives, together with diplomatic support from Ambassador Macocha Tembele and Ambassador Tri Yogo Jatmiko, will provide a solid foundation for a long-term partnership.

The future facility will manufacture cooking oil, soap bars, soap noodles, and agro-oleochemicals, contributing to industrial development, food security, value addition, and sustainable economic growth.

Business Meeting and Multilateral Cooperation

This milestone is a testament to successful multilateral cooperation between Pakistan, Indonesia, and Tanzania.

It reflects Pakistan’s commitment to advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals through responsible investment, sustainable industrialisation, decent job creation, food security, and international partnerships.

At the same time, it aligns with the African Union’s Agenda 2063 by supporting Africa’s industrial transformation, regional value addition, and long-term economic integration.

By combining Pakistani entrepreneurship, Indonesian manufacturing excellence, and Tanzania’s investment potential, the partnership demonstrates how diplomacy and the private sector can work together to deliver inclusive and sustainable prosperity across the Global South.
