INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - The government through the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) will build a double track on the southern route of Java island. This is to improve the accessibility between regions in Indonesia.

Director of Infrastructure of the Directorate General of Railways at the Ministry of Transportation, Zulfikri, said that for the construction of this double rail line he is targeting to be completed in 2019. Currently, double track rail on the southern route already has several points already built.

While for the double track railway along Cirebon-Prupuk-Purwokerto along 157 km is already operating. Furthermore, in Purwokerto-Kroya 27 km and Kroya-Kutuarjo 76 km has not been installed double rail.

"In 2019 South Java DDT is like Purwokerto-Kroya and Kroya-Kutuarjo," he said

In addition, from Kutuarjo-Yogyakarta-Solo 123 km has been operating double rail since 2007 ago. Furthermore, Solo-Kedungbanteng 52 km, Kedungbanteng-Madiun 56 km, and Madiun-Jombang 86 km has not been installed double rail.

Then, there is still the remaining 64 km of Jombang-Wonokromo that has not been installed double rail and targeted construction 2018-2019 future. "Jombang-Wonokromo last, but the budget already exists until Jombang," said Zulfikri.
