INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - As a pioneer of private industrial area in Indonesia, the development of PT Jababeka Tbk (KIJA) industrial area is not separated from the more complete infrastructure around Jababeka City.
Director of PT Jababeka Tbk, Sutedja Darmono in his written statement Wednesday (31/5/2017) said that currently there are 1,650 multinational companies from 30 countries to tenant in Jababeka industrial area in Cikarang, Bekasi, and 730,000 workers and 10,000 expatriates in the area.
"The development of the last few years shows a very good progress for the Jababeka industrial area, as evidenced by the construction of a complete commercial facility and a large variety of property products for residential and investment in the Jababeka industrial area," Sutedja said.
The development of infrastructure in the region becomes the key to the dynamic development of the Jababeka industrial estate. Infrastructure within the area is developed in inhouse, such as a power plant of 130 MW power plant managed by PT Bekasi Power, a subsidiary of PT Jababeka Tbk.
The power plant, officially operating in early 2013, is equipped with international standard equipment and abundant gas supplies to ensure the continuity of Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) operations for seven industrial estates in eastern Jakarta, especially Jababeka industrial estates.
Through operational cooperation with PLN, Bekasi Power also supports government programs in the distribution of electricity in industrial areas located in Bekasi and Karawang corridors. To meet the growing need for tenants, Bekasi Power plans to add power as much as twice as much as it is available.
"In addition to power generation, Jababeka also develops logistics facilities serving import export activities in addition to domestic distribution, namely Cikarang Dry Port," said Sutedja.
Cikarang Dry Port is the first and only Integrated Customs Service Area (KPPT) in Indonesia, enabling import-export customs clearance to be resolved within the Jababeka industrial estate. As an extension of Tanjung Priok international port, Cikarang Dry Port has IDJBK international port code.
Since its construction in 2011, Cikarang Dry Port has a capacity of up to 250,000 TEUs and comprehensive facilities such as warehousing and container depots. In early 2016 Cikarang Dry Port has been established by the government as one of the implementers of Bonded Logistics Center (PLB) in Indonesia, together with the Indonesian Textile Association (API), Cikarang Dry Port developed a logistics center for cotton commodities.
