The banner of "Food Aid for Rohingya Refugees" is straightforward in a fully loaded truckload of logistics.
This morning, there are already five logistic trucks ready to depart to zero line area of Bangladesh, precisely in Kanzarpara Camp. The trucks will deliver 1000 packages of logistic assistance to the people of Indonesia for Rohingya refugees who have just arrived in the zero line area.
Thousands of food and logistics packages have been prepared since last Thursday night (7/9). A number of ACT volunteers in Chittagong continued packing a variety of food and logistics assistance to be distributed the next day.
"Each package contains not only food aid, but other basic logistics needs that are urgently needed," said Hasan, a partner in Chittagong who has been recruiting ACT in distributing emergency response since a week ago.
He then explained, the food package consists of rice, oil, dhal (chinese staple), flour, and mineral water. Meanwhile, logistical support to be distributed includes clothing, sanitary supplies, and tarpaulins.
To this day, a new wave of refugees is still arriving in Kanzarpara Camp, Bangladesh. In addition to arriving with a hungry stomach condition, they also need shelter to shelter from the rain that still flushed most of Bangladesh.
"The tarpaulins and bedding are necessary so that they are not exposed to rain and cold. Moreover, clean clothes and sanitation," said Rahadiansyah, a member of the ACT Humanitarian Team for Rohingya, as quoted in a press release received by Editor (Sunday 9 / 9.2017)
