INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - The production capacity of PT Semen Padang will be increased to 10.4 million per year this year. Previously, the production capacity of PT Semen Indonesia Tbk (SMGR) subsidiary was 7.4 million tons.

"Production capacity was increased by about 3 million tons. The reason is that we have to supply about 1 million tons of cement for the construction project of Sumatera trans toll road, "said Pudjo Suseno, Commercial Director of PT Semen Padang in Jakarta, Wednesday (27/09/2017).

Pudjo said, the existence of trans-Sumatra toll road construction is a good enough opportunity and should be utilized by PT Semen Padang which is also the leader of the cement market on the island of Sumatra.

"Semen Padang is very concerned about the development of the toll road infrastructure because the delivery of goods can be smoother and the distribution costs become cheaper so the price will also be cheap," said Pudjo.

Besides increasing production capacity, Pudjo, Semen Padang last year also able to do business efficiency in all business lines, including transportation and distribution amounting to Rp400 billion.

Therefore, Pudjo hopes, if the Some of Trans Sumatera toll road will operate, then the efficiency level of Semen Padang is expected to be even higher.

In fact, Pudjo is optimistic that the absorption of Semen Padang products in the Trans Sumatra toll road development project of up to 1 million tons will be able to increase sales above 5% this year.

"Our sales are targeted to grow between 8-10% this year," Pudjo added.
