INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - The incident that occurred on Tuesday (03/10/2017) morning at Kalimalang Toll Road Project owned by PT Waskita Karya Tbk (WSKT) caused casualties. But the incident was not due to the impact of the concrete, but hit the safety net that is being dismantled.

Shastia Hadiarti, Corporate Secretary of WSKT, explained that when the project team dismantled the safety net of the diaphragm at PEB 6-7 Kalimalang (around Gudang Seng area) the area has been localized.

The situation and conditions around the Seng Warehouse were safe and under close supervision by Health and Safety (OSH) officers, Shastia said in Jakarta, Tuesday (03/10/2017) noon.

However, according to Shastia, there was a young man who parked his motorcycle near the demolition site. The K3 officer informed and directed the youth to move his motorcycle not to approach the demolition site.

Shastia pointed out that, despite being told and asked to move from the dangerous area, the young man refused to move on the grounds that he was still sleepy.

Therefore, when the demolition was done, the young man was hit by the safety net and suffered abrasions on the arms, wrists, legs and ankles, Shastia said.

After the incident, according to Shastia, the victim immediately received treatment from the Project K3 for minor injuries suffered. Victims are also given painkillers.

Therefore, we affirm that it is not true that the victims were hit by concrete as the news circulated at a leading site today, "said Shastia.
