INDUSTRY.co.id - Denpasar - President Director of PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Pelindo) III, I Gusti Ngurah Ashkara Danadiputra said that the expansion of yacht harbor is certain to be visited by large yachts by 2018.
"Currently, we have started to dredge the pond to reach a depth of 12 meters, including the development of other supporting infrastructure in accordance with the Benoa Port Master Plan (RIP) Benoa," Ashkara said on the sidelines of the General Manager of PT Pelindo Benoa from Ardhy Wahyu Basuki to Wayan Eka Saputra in Denpasar, Thursday (5/10/2017)
He said the RIP project was started by dredging or deepening the flow of ponds to be able to enter the yacht at the new port of Benoa Harbor.
"So with the development of RIP is expected to visit foreign tourists through the sea port will continue to increase to Bali, including other regions in the country," he said.
Ashkara said the development step of Benoa Port expansion has been long enough, but the legal process takes a long time.
"Thankfully, the RIP project is now beginning its initial phase, and the initial phase is in line with the work calendar in August 2018 completed, or before the implementation of the IMF (World Bank) Meeting in Nusa Dua," he said as quoted by Antara.
With the completion of the first stage of the expansion of Benoa Harbor, he said, the largest seaport in Bali will be able to accommodate large yachts and Yacht vessels (medium-sized cruises).
"With the completion of the port, the cruise tourists can spend their holiday in Bali, because in the future the Benoa Port area is also equipped with supporting facilities such as hotels, shopping centers and others," said Ashkara.
