INDUSTRY.co.id -West Lombok - PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Pelindo) III will begin the construction of Gili Mas Port in Lembar sub district, West Lombok regency, West Nusa Tenggara.

"The pier construction will begin soon and now the tender process will be at the center," said General Manager of PT Pelindo III Baharudin Sheet Branch, West Lombok, Friday (10/2017)

Pelindo, he said, allocated a budget of Rp1, 3 trillion for the construction of Gili Mas Port as an expansion of Port Sheet that has not been able to accommodate large ships, especially cruise ships.

The construction process begins with the reclamation of 25 hectares of marine waters and has been realized by 30 percent. The reclamation process is targeted to be completed by March 2018.

While carrying out the reclamation process, said Baharudin, the development of the pier will be done as soon as possible so that the operational target of the port can be realized in May 2019.

"The reclamation target is completed by 2018, but the dock construction process does not have to wait for reclamation," he said.


According to him, if Gili Mas Port is already operating, then container vessels with a capacity of 200 thousand DWT (deadweight tonnage), including cruises whose length is 450-500 meters can lean safely.
