INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) targets 1,142,752 certified workers in 2017-2019. These efforts will be pursued through various strategic programs, namely the implementation of vocational education and training that links and match between Vocational High School (SMK) with industry, Training 3in1, vocational education units in Ministry of Industry, and certification of industrial workforce.

Currently the development of human resources (HR) through strengthening vocational education is a priority government after infrastructure development. This HR development aims to establish and produce a competent industrial workforce in accordance with industry needs or demand driven, said Airlangga Hartarto Industry Minister (Menperin) in Jakarta on Wednesday (22/11).

Menperin said, from the entire program, 2017 is targeted the number of certified workers as much as 201,055 people, by 2018 as many as 458,109 people, and in 2019 as many as 483,409 people. So the total becomes 1,142,752 certified workers.

From the four stages we have launched for the SMK link and match program with industry, 415 industries and 1,245 SMKs involved, producing 254,037 certified workers. Until 2019, the contribution of the program is targeted at 946,400 certified workers, he said.

Airlangga said that every launch of vocational program, Ministry of Industry facilitates the provision of machinery and practice equipment from industry to SMK. To date, it has involved 45 industries for 282 vocational schools. In addition, the implementation of productive apprenticeship programs in the industry as many as 276 people and the working practices of vocational students in the industry as much as 722 people.

For Training 3in1 program, the number of workers who have been trained, certified and absorbed work during the year 2014-2016 as many as 36,532 people. Meanwhile, in 2017-2019 targeted as many as 162 thousand people. The training includes programs for the garment industry, palm oil, rubber, cocoa processing, furniture, plastics, cosmetics, cement and petrochemicals, electronics, animation and automotive.

Then, through the industrial vocational education unit within the Ministry of Industry, it is targeted to produce as many as 16,252 graduates until 2019. Currently, the Ministry of Industry has nine vocational schools, nine polytechnics, one academic community, and one Diploma I industry program. By 2019, three polytechnics and one community college will be added.

All Kemenperin vocational education units have specialized competency-based and link and match with industry, Airlangga said. In fact, 90 percent of his graduates are absorbed by industry during graduation. This achievement is because education unit in kemenperin environment is equipped with supporting facilities such as workshop room, laboratory, teaching factory with machine and standard equipment of industry.

In addition, there is a Professional Certification Institution (LSP) and Competency Test Venue (TUK) so that graduates get a diploma and certificate of competence, he added. Other contributions are from competency certification program organized by Ministry of Industry, with target until 2019 reaches 18,100 people.
