INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - Ngurah Rai International Airport, Denpasar, Bali is expected to close up to three days ahead due to the eruption of Mount Agung and exacerbated by cyclone storm.

"Based on the prediction of Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency from yesterday to three to four days ahead there is a cyclone storm," said Secretary General of the Ministry of Transportation Sugihardjo in Jakarta, Tuesday (28/11/2017)

Sugihardjo explains the direction of the wind when entering November to December should lead east or southeast, but because there is this cyclone, the wind moves southwest.

"So the initial eruption of Mount Agung was to the east or southeast and the impact is Lombok Airport, but then, there is this cyclone storm, the wind moves south and southwest so that is affected Ngurah Rai," he said as quoted by Antara.

However, Sugihardjo urged people to remain vigilant because of the unpredictable nature activity.

"If the cyclone storm is over, it could again lead to Lombok," he said.

He explained that the anticipation has been prepared, namely providing 10 alternative airports and 100 buses to transport passengers through other modes, namely land and crossings.
