INDUSTRY.co.id -Jakarta- The tourism industry and creative economy should continue to grow in Jakarta because it is expected to become a new source of economic growth in the capital after the role of manufacturing industry continues to shrink, according to Bank Indonesia officials.
"In addition, the role of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the economy needs attention, given that the sector absorbs a large enough workforce," said Doni Joewono, Jakarta Bank Indonesia (BI) Deputy Representative in Jakarta on Tuesday (5/12 / 2017)
Doni made the remarks at the BI BI Jakarta annual meeting attended by the Head of Local Government Work Units (SKPD), members of DPRD, BUMD leaders, and Vice Governor of DKI Jakarta, Sandiaga Uno.
Doni claimed Jakarta's economic activity until the third quarter of 2017 was quite stretched. One of the indicators, Jakarta's economic growth structure is more evenly distributed not only based on consumption, but also by the productive sector.
"In the next few years, investment will be the main driving force for Jakarta's economic growth," he said.
The widening of the Jakarta economy provided momentum to accelerate the economic recovery. Therefore, said Doni, the momentum of the current economic revival should be exploited with the right policy response.
In order to strengthen the phase of Jakarta's economic recovery in the short term, Doni said, encouragement of investment, especially the private sector needs to be done. Thus, BI DKI Jakarta sees the realization of Jakarta's APBD should be accelerated. The role of Jakarta Investment Center or "Jakarta Investment Center" should also be strengthened.
"On the other hand, price stability, especially food prices, should continue to be pursued through strengthening the role of BUMD food," he said.
BI DKI Jakarta expects capital growth in 2018 will be in the range of 6.1-6.5 percent. Jakarta's economic growth will be sourced from investment and exports, and household consumption.
