INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta- The Minister of Industry, Airlangga Hartarto, said that the national industry requires connectivity and interaction through integrated technology, information and communication technology and can be utilized throughout the manufacturing value chain to achieve efficiency and improve product quality.

Minister of Industry movement, including focusing on the development of five manufacturing sectors that will be piloted and run 10 national initiatives in order to strengthen Indonesia's industrial structure.

Airlangga also believes, through the commitment and active participation of all parties, the implementation of Industry 4.0 in Indonesia will run successfully and on target.

Successful implementation of Making Indonesia 4.0 will be able to boost real GDP growth by 1-2 percent per year, so that annual GDP growth will rise from the baseline by 5 percent to 6-7 percent in the 2018-2030 period, he said.

From that achievement, the manufacturing industry will contribute 21-26 percent to GDP by 2030.

Furthermore, GDP growth will be driven by a significant increase in net exports, where Indonesia is estimated to reach 5-10 percent of the ratio of net exports to GDP by 2030. In addition, Making Indonesia 4.0 promises employment opening of 7-19 million people, both in manufacturing and non-manufacturing sectors by 2030 as a result of greater demand for exports.

"In achieving these targets, the national industry needs a lot of improvement, especially in the aspect of technology mastery that becomes the key determinant of its competitiveness," said Minister of Industry.
