Thepresidentpost.id - RI President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) accompanied by Mrs. Iriana Joko Widodo inaugurated Mayapada Hospital Bandung which is located at Jalan Terusan Buah Batu No. 5, Bandung City, West Java Province, on Monday (06/03/2023).

In his remarks, the Head of State appreciated the concept of a hospital that carries the theme of green hospitals in Indonesia.

“I just entered this hospital—Mayapada Hospital Bandung. What I see, all of the rooms, medical equipment, layout, green building are very, very good," said the President.

The President hopes that the presence of modern hospitals such as Mayapada Hospital Bandung can reduce the number of people seeking treatment abroad. According to the President, based on data currently received, nearly two million Indonesians still choose to go abroad for treatment.

"One million—approximately one million to Malaysia, approximately 750 thousand to Singapore, and the rest to Japan, America, Germany, and so on, shall we continue?" said the President.

The President also stated that the government would fully support the construction of an international standard hospital. This is done so that Indonesia does not lose large amounts of foreign exchange.

"Our IDR 165 trillion of foreign exchange was lost because of this, because there was an outflow of capital," said the President.

The President is also grateful that Mayapada Hospital Bandung provides wide opportunities for Indonesian people from various walks of life to get health services. The President does not want gaps in the community in getting access and health services.

"I previously asked the Managing Director of Mayapada Hospital Bandung Hospital, don't only serve the upper middle class, but the BPJS as well, but it turns out, there are already a lot of BPJS being served here," said the President.

Accompanying the President and Mrs. Iriana at the inauguration were Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin, Member of the Presidential Advisory Council Tahir, Deputy Governor of West Java Uu Ruzhanul Ulum, and Mayor of Bandung Yana Mulyana.
