Thepresidentpost.id - Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) officially launched the Indonesian Capital City logo (IKN), Tuesday (30/05/2023), at the State Palace, Jakarta.

The logo, which will later become a visual identity for the IKN, has the theme "Tree of Life" which has a number of meanings.

"The Tree of Life is a tree of life and we all hope that the logo of the Tree of Life will inspire IKN to create a new place of life for all of us, which will become a source of life for all Indonesian people in the future," said the President.

The President also explained that this logo has a philosophy that is in line with the spirit of IKN development, fostering a sense of pride in the identity of the Indonesian nation as a large and diverse country and nation. This logo is also believed to be able to raise public awareness to protect nature and the environment and its ecosystem.

"It also strengthens our efforts to contribute to accelerating the development of our Archipelago's Capital, the future capital of Indonesia," he said.

The Head of State further revealed that the logo by Aulia Akbar was chosen after obtaining the most votes based on  open voting  followed by more than 500 thousand voters.

" Earlier the Head of the Authority [IKN] had conveyed that after going through a very selective competition process,  thank God,  the logo with the most voters was chosen, so those who vote are not the president, be careful, be careful, those who vote are the people," he said.

Also accompanying the President at the event were, among others, the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian, Head of the IKN Authority Bambang Susantono, and Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung.

Also present were Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani, Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Minister of National Development Planning/Head of the National Development Planning Agency Suharso Monoarfa, Minister of Investment/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board Bahlil Lahadalia, TNI Commander Admiral Yudo Margono, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, Governor of Kalimantan Timur Isran Noor, as well as Acting. Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono. (FID/UN)
