INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta, Vice Chairman of Kadin for Transportation, Carmelita Hartoto, believes that rupiah exchange rate against US dollar should be maintained so as not to have psychological impact for business actors.

According to Carmelita, the weakening of rupiah value to be above the number of 14,000 per US dollar will depress business actor related to imported goods.

"I think this should be taken care of, of course, because we know that the business sector will greatly impact if the rupiah gets worse, especially with regard to goods and other needs in the country related to the US dollar," said Carmelita Hartoto through his official statement in Jakarta (25/4/2018).

Therefore, he asked Bank Indonesia to keep the psychological barriers against the US dollar at Rp 14,000. If the weakening exceeds the psychological barrier then it is feared there will be panic among business actors related to the trust of the exchange rate of RI.

"The condition will deepen the pressure on the rupiah," she explained.
