President Abbas Highly Appreciates Indonesia's Consistent Support for Palestine

Thepresidentpost.id - Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) met with Palestinian President, Mahmoud Abbas, on the sidelines of the Extraordinary High Level Conference (Summit) of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) which was held at the King Abdulaziz International Convention Center (KAICC), Riyadh, Saudi Arabia , Saturday (11/11/2023). 

During the meeting, President Jokowi reiterated Indonesia's firm commitment to continuing to support Palestine.

“Indonesia is committed to supporting Palestine optimally and concretely. Violence must stop immediately. The forced displacement of civilians must end. "Humanitarian assistance must be provided immediately," stressed the President.

President Jokowi admitted that he was very sad about the humanitarian conditions in Gaza which were getting worse due to Israeli atrocities. President Jokowi is also saddened by the ongoing intimidation of Palestinian civilians in the West Bank.

"This heinous act is a serious violation of international law and humanitarian values," he said.

Furthermore, President Jokowi also emphasized that Indonesia strongly condemns Israel's atrocities against Palestine. According to the President, there is no single reason that can justify the mass murder and forced displacement of Palestinians from their land.

President Jokowi was also grateful that humanitarian aid from Indonesia had begun to be sent to Gaza. President Jokowi also asked President Abbas to convey what Indonesia could help with.

Meanwhile, President Abbas said that Indonesia is one of the countries that consistently continues to support the struggle of the Palestinian people. For this reason, the Palestinian President really appreciates this support. Apart from that, the Palestinian President also expressed his gratitude for Indonesia's humanitarian assistance to Palestinians in Gaza
