INDUSTRY.co.id - Parig i- An Indian company under the banner of Sudeva Group, will build a sugar factory in West Sigenti Village, Tinombo Selatan District, Parigi Moutong District, Central Sulawesi, in the near future.
President Director of PT. Sudevam Group Mr. Lalit Kumar Ritital said in Parigi, Friday (11/8/2017), the principle permit for the establishment of factories has been published both from the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Trade and the principle permit from the Governor of Central Sulawesi.
"The principle permit is all finished, just start construction," said Lalit Kumar at the premiere planting event of sugar cane classification in Tinombo Sub-district on Friday.
Lalit Kumar has not mentioned how much investment to build the plant except that the plant will be built on 160 hectares and needs sugarcane as raw material of 6,000 tons per day.
According to Lalit Kumar, his company chose Parigi Moutong Regency to invest in this sugar factory because sugar content in sugar cane planted in Parigi Moutong Regency is much better than other areas in Central Sulawesi.
He recounted that for four months he was with a crop expert from India researched in Parigi Moutong County. As a result, sugar cane in the Moutong, Tinombo and South Tinombo areas has excellent sugar content, so the choice of factory location finally falls in Sigenti Barat Village, Tinombo Selatan District.
"The results of the research on sugar cane here I brought to India, where the experts say that we brought the sugarcane that was injected because it tastes very sweet, even though it is sugar cane from Parigi Moutong," he said.
Before starting the plant construction, it will conduct a sugarcane breeding with three varieties that have passed the test. The planting of sugarcane seedlings was symbolically done by the Regent of Parigi Moutong H Samsurizal Tombolotutu, President Director of PT. Sudevam Group Mr Lalit Kumar Ritital with six sub-district heads in the northern region of Parigi Moutong District, in Tinombo village on Friday.
He urged the community to start planting empty land with sugar cane and it will facilitate the provision of seeds and fertilizers, including teaching the community how to plant a good and true sugar cane.
"The seeds will be ours, the people just planted," said Lalit Kumar while pointing to one of the cane breeding places in front of RTH Tinombo.
Regent Parigi Moutong H Samsurizal Tombolotutu said, if the sugar cane plant is successful, the most benefited is the community because of the job will be wide open.
Samsurizal asked the company to recruit 90 percent of factory personnel from Parigi Moutong residents.
"I do not want it if its employees all from India, I remind you that this factory is expected to help the people who have difficulty in finding job opportunities," he said.
The Bupati also reminded the community not to overturn the land.
"Do not let the economic opportunity in the sugar cane is lucrative, productive rice fields converted into sugar cane fields. If that happens your relatives will deal with Kodim, that violates the rules," he said.
