INDUSTRY.co.id - CFLD Indonesia, a subsidiary of the world's leading developer and operator of the New Industry City, CFLD International, joined the rally of Indonesia’s effort to cope with the novel virus COVID-19 by distributing staple food packages to hundreds of vulnerable families.
The distribution, which took place on Sat and Mon, May 16 and 18, 2020, is intended to benefit low-income workers including street vendors, online motorbike-taxi drivers, and street cleaners in Tangerang and Karawang where CFLD operates.
"Food insecurity became a bad reality for many people after they lost their jobs and experienced greater economic pressure during the pandemic. For us, providing real support to the people who are affected during the crisis is a form of our social care for the community, and it is inspired by the government program in ensuring community access to the food. We hope that the spirit of supporting others can also inspire more parties to join in the real action to help humanity," said a representative of CFLD Indonesia.
A total of 500 food packages were distributed through Regent’s Office and directly to needy families in these two cities to ensure the aid could reach those who really need it. Each relief package contained 5 kg rice, 1 kg sugar, 2L cooking oil, 1L fresh milk, and 10 packs of instant noodles to ensure the vulnerable groups can cook their fast-breaking meals for the whole family.
During the pandemic, CFLD Indonesia has been actively supporting the community in many ways. Previously, the company donated 100,000 face masks to the community by distributing them through BNPB and the local governments of Tangerang and Karawang.
On May 13, the company also donated three tons of food to Karawang’s government which would be distributed to thousands of households in need.
