INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - The train connecting the capital city with Soekarno-Hatta International Airport is targeted to operate in November 2017.

"Hope we are optimistic in November, but I say the end of the year of operation, we will continue to catch up as soon as possible to operate because the public is very looking forward," said Director of PT Kereta Api Indonesia Edi Sukmoro when met in the review of the arrival of a series (trainset) Balai Yasa Manggarai, Jakarta, Tuesday (8/15/2017)

Edi said that the new arrival of a series of trains consisting of six trains from PT Industri Kereta Api (Inka) and next September will be a total of 10 series of train.

Related to the readiness of the track, he said he would re-evaluate because the previous Duri-Batu Cepet line is all quiet, then used for electric train (KRL) which is quite dense, because it needs to be set again.

Currently, he mentioned KRL passengers in one day has reached one million people from the previous 900,000 people.

"There are arrangements that we calculate, if Airport Train comes in, there are other calculations, so that the solid Tangerang KA is a solution," he said.

One of them, he added, will add a series of KRL from eight to 12 series of trains to accommodate more passengers, as well as adjusting platforms.

Related land, Edi claimed to have freed 100 percent to continue the construction of rail and so forth.

"It's all done, in fact if the land is settled, install the tracks quickly and easily, the hardest is indeed the land acquisition," he told media crews.

As for tariffs, he said around Rp80,000-Rp100,000, but it is still recalculated due to the swelling costs in land acquisition.

"In the feasibility study it is straight course, but when in the field turn slightly nudge the land of citizens, it's not willing to release a piece, all of them want," he said.

However, he is trying to get the tariff below Rp100,000.

"If you can under that why baseball because this train is community service," he said.

In one circuit, Airport Train can accommodate 274 passengers each way or a total of 33,000 passengers with a total of 124 train trips with 10 train runs a day.

The Airport Train Route is the new Manggarai-Sudirman-Duri-Batu Ceper-Soetta Airport which can be reached within 54 minutes.
