KIK is a Joint Venture business area betweenPT JababekaTbk subsidiary, Graha Buana Cikarang, with the Singaporean Company SembCorp Development Indonesia Pte. Ltd, Sembawang development Ltd’s Subsidiary. Share ownership is divided by 51 percent for PT Jababeka and 49 percent for Sembcorp.
Accompanying the President in the inauguration, among others, Central Java Governor (Central Java) GanjarPranowo and Regent Kendal, Mirna Annisa. Also present were ministers of the Cabinet of Work and ministers from Singapore, as well as hundreds of entrepreneurs and investors of various companies from several countries.
The area, located about 21 km west of Semarang and 20 km from Ahmad Yani International Airport and 25 km from Tanjung Mas Port, has become a new icon for investors to invest in Indonesia, to be called a "new paradise" of investment in Indonesia.
This promising area, supported by the ease of investment and facilities offered by Park by the Bay, is designed to be an internationally standardized industrial zone with mixed-use development covering industrial and residential and commercial areas that meet the growing demand for competitive manufacturing costs in Indonesia.
The presence of KIK Park by the Bay will also be able to encourage the acceleration of the development of Central Java province which is currently only 5 percent of the total industry in Indonesia.
Even through the development of this integrated area, it is predicted that the total number of Indonesian industries built in Central Java will increase from the current position of 5 percent to about 10 percent in the next five years.

President Jokowi in his speech, said the investment cooperation between the two countries in Kendal Industrial Park is a new icon of the bilateral relationship between the two countries and will be further improved in the future.
"Especially with regard to investment cooperation in Kendal Industrial Park, Prime Minister Lee and I agreed that this cooperation will be a new icon of bilateral relations," he said, adding that the Indonesian government has adopted a policy to encourage investment in industrial estate development by removing barriers to project development In addition to supporting and providing solutions for infrastructure development and land provision, these two things are key to the creation of a good industrial Area, "said President Jokowi when inaugurated KIK.
The President also asked the Minister of Industry AirlanggaHartarto, to ensure the availability of electricity supply in KIK smoothly. In addition, the ease of licensing and provision of land for the development of KIK.
"Because there are five forms of support that can support the running of industrial zones, namely transportation, electricity and gas, water and sanitation, human resources, and ecology," said Jokowi advised.
According to Jokowi, any investment that can open jobs provides an encouragement of economic growth, namely investment.
"Because we have to know the limited state budget, limited capex state, private sector we have the ability but there are limits, I think this kind of cooperation is a good way to boost economic growth, create as many jobs as possible," he said.
The hope of President Jokowi, in Kendal Industrial Estate will absorb more than 500,000 direct labor, so that later the velocity of money in Kendal and in the vicinity and in Central Java can move up its economic growth.

Central Java Governor GanjarPranowo who was given the first chance to convey his speech, said the inauguration of KIK is the perfect momentum to celebrate half a century of bilateral relations between Indonesia and Singapore.

In that timeframe, KIK is also targeted to hold new investors up to 300 companies. With that amount, Darmono calculates, able to absorb or empower 500 thousand workers.

Meanwhile, President Director of PT JababekaTbkBudianto Liman said that KIK is built on 2,700 hectares of land.
The first phase of the development of the region will be conducted on 860 hectares of land projected over the next 3 to 4 years. The investment for the first phase of development cost Rp 160 trillion to Rp 200 trillion. He said. The area will also be equipped with electricity, housing, and logistics facilities. With the facility, he believes logistics entrepreneurs can enter the industrial site.

Minister of Industry Airlangga Hartanto said the development of the region is an effort to improve the economic equality and national industry.
