INDUSTRY.co.id - Tangerang - The national ceramic industry continues to strengthen its growth foundation, not only through increasing production capacity, but also the development of competent (SDM) human resources.
This step was realized through the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between President University and Asosiasi Aneka Industri Keramik Indonesia (ASAKI) in the Megabuild, Ceramics, and Megaproperty Expo 2026 exhibition series at NICE PIK 2, Jakarta, Thursday (4/6/2026).
The signing of the MoU was also witnessed directly by Deputy Minister of Industry (Wamenperin) Faisol Riza.
Wamenperin appreciated the signing of the MoU between Asaki and President University. According to him, the collaboration is an important step in building an integrated human resource development ecosystem ranging from education, training, competency certification to employment.
"This cooperation is expected to be a link and match model between the world of education and the industrial world in preparing superior talents who will strengthen the competitiveness of the national ceramics industry in the future," said Faisol Riza.
Meanwhile, the MoU covers curriculum development, internship programs, and workforce capacity building in the ceramics industry sector.
Vice-Chancellor of the University President, Fransiska Wiratiskusuma said, the cooperation was a strategic step to bridge the needs of the education and industry world.
"President University will cooperate with ASAKI in developing the curriculum to be more in line with the needs of the ceramic industry," said Fransiska.
According to him, the collaboration is expected to be able to produce graduates who have competencies according to the needs of the business world and industry.
From the academic side, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, President University, Josef Barita Sar Manik, emphasized that the cooperation not only focuses on curriculum adjustment, but also industrial capacity building through capacity building programs.
He explained that the Faculty of Engineering of President University has a number of study programs that are relevant to the needs of the ceramic industry, such as Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, to Civil Engineering.
"This cooperation aims to provide each other with competencies. We have expertise in education that is very relevant to the ceramics industry,” Josef said.
In addition, the cooperation also includes technical support to the needs of the industry, ranging from ceramics sector projects to direct training provided by experienced lecturers.
President University and ASAKI also plan to map a joint curriculum related to future industrial needs, including the fields of high-temperature process engineering and manufacturing automation.
Josef added that students have been prepared to enter the industry directly through an intensive internship program for two semesters.
"We have an intensive internship program so that students can work in the ceramics industry for two consecutive semesters," he said.
Through this collaboration, ASAKI and President University hope to strengthen the SDM industrial development ecosystem while increasing the competitiveness of the Indonesian ceramic industry in the global market.
