INDUSTRY.co.id -ย Bandung โ In order to commemorate World Menstrual Hygiene Day 2026, Hers Protex together with the WINGS for UNICEF Healthy Clean Generation program successfully held menstrual health and hygiene education for hundreds of Sekolah Menengah Pertama (SMP) students in Bandung Regency.
The program, which took place at 10 SMP in the period of 7-22 May 2026, was part of the third year of the WINGS for Healthy Clean Generation UNICEF campaign. The activity aims to increase young women's understanding of correct menstrual hygiene practices while creating a more friendly and supportive school environment during menstruation.
Through this educational series, students gain knowledge about reproductive health, menstrual hygiene, and the importance of maintaining personal hygiene during menstruation.ย
Activities also involve parents as part of a support system that plays an important role in helping young girls go through puberty more comfortably and confidently.
As part of the spirit of Hers for HER, Hers Protex presents three main programs to help young women feel safer and more comfortable during menstruation.
The first action is Speech Action, in the form of educational talk shows involving female students and parents. This activity aims to build a shared understanding of menstruation and the importance of family support for young women.
The second action, Mutual Support Action, is realized through the distribution of menstrual education booklets that can be a source of practical information for students to understand and undergo menstruation without worry.
Meanwhile, Ready Action is carried out by providing sanitary dispensers and sanitary pad stock in the school environment to help meet the hygienic needs of students during learning activities.
This program not only focuses on physical health education, but also pays attention to psychosocial aspects that are often experienced by young women when entering puberty.
In its implementation, UNICEF also provides educational materials that highlight psychosocial aspects during menstruation and puberty. The material helps students understand the physical and emotional changes they experience as well as how to deal with social dynamics that often arise during adolescence.
In addition, the WINGS Peduli Foundation educates participants on how to properly dispose of used sanitary pads as part of the implementation of (PHBS)'s clean and healthy living behavior.
Activities are packaged interactively through educational games so that the material is easier to understand and apply in everyday life.
Muhammad Zainal, WASH Specialist of UNICEF Indonesia, asserts that access to accurate information and adequate sanitation facilities is very important for menstrual health and hygiene.
"At puberty, girls experience physical changes and emotional dynamics that can affect self-confidence. Therefore, it is important for them to get accurate support and information in order to understand that menstruation is a normal biological process and not something that is taboo to talk about," he said.
According to her, a supportive school environment and adequate water, sanitation, and hygiene facilities play a major role in helping female students stay comfortable and confident during menstruation. Menstrual Hygiene Day Becomes Momentum Increase Awareness
