Minister of Industry Airlangga Hartarto along with Maritime Coordinating Minister Luhut Binsar Panjaitan attended the signing of the MoU between Indonesia Best & Grow Investment Group with Shenzhen Qixin Construction Group Co.Ltd in Beijing, China, Saturday (13/05/2017).

Luhut asserted, investors should not be afraid to invest in Indonesia, the article of various regulations that inhibit has been eliminated. The Indonesian government also welcomes the GIIPE industry area and will encourage investors to invest in the project.

Meanwhile, Airlangga said, the Ministry of Industry has provided recommendations and support for the development of GIIPE areas. According to him, the industrial area can become the spearhead to attract investment and see the development of expansion industry in Indonesia.

"So, we have also been collecting industrial estate management companies to continue to improve competitiveness through the development of facilities and infrastructure that support the needs of the industry," said Airlangga.

GIIPE occupies an area of ​​2,000 ha and will still expand the area of ​​1,000 ha. Project GIIPE is divided into Power Plant of 200 Ha, Seaport area of ​​200 Ha, Industrial Estate 1,000 Ha, Residential area of ​​200 Ha, Cruise Port, Golf & Palm Resot area of ​​100 Ha, Central Business District of 300 Ha, with total investment value of USD 7,438 000,000.

GIIPE as a new industrial development center in Medan City will encourage economic activity in North Sumatra in particular, and in Indonesia in general. The presence of deep sea ports in this area will minimize the logistics costs that usually occur due to the far access of industrial estates from the port.
